The Forty Days

The momentous event of standing at Mount Sinai is  juxtaposed with Noah's 40 days in the Ark.

Moshe entered into the midst of the cloud and ascended the mountain, and Moshe remained on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights (Exodus 24:18).

And then, at the end of 40 days, it came to pass that Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made (Genesis 8:60).
